Brief biography (Academics)
Dr. Narayan Behera is currently Professor within the Division of Physical Sciences at SVYASA University, Bengaluru, India. He holds a Ph.D. in quantum physics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. He has done M.Sc. (physics) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. His academic journey has taken him around the globe, where he pursued research in the realm of theoretical physics, mathematical and computational biology. His academic sojourn included stints at renowned institutions such as Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, France; Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan; and Utrecht University in Utrecht, Holland; Santa Fe Institute for Complex System Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, and the University of Helsinki in Helsinki, Finland for period of about 5 years.
Earlier, he was a faculty staff/professor at Kyoto University, Japan and Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bengaluru, India. He has worked as visiting professor in Kyoto University, Japan; Jawaharlal University, New Delhi; Indian statistical Institute, Kolkata; Centre for philosophy and foundations of science; Indian institute of science, Bengaluru; and International institute of information technology, Bengaluru; Poorna Prajna Institute of Scientific Research, Bengaluru, India.
Beyond his profound involvement in the realm of scientific research, Dr. Behera has maintained an enduring interest in Oriental spiritual philosophy and human empowerment for over four decades. He has been practicing meditation since 1997 (on the spiritual eye) under the guidance of a Himalayan Yogi and another perfect spiritual master. He has undergone profound spiritual experiences, such as: perennial state of bliss, heightened intuition, limitlessness and expanded awareness as a result of meditation practices. As a spiritual teacher, he has successfully completed many online courses targeted for international audience involving spiritual lessons from ancient Indian scriptures and meditation practices. At present, he is keenly interested to create spiritual awareness in the globe and hence an enlightened society.
